At St Thomas Garnet’s your children benefit from inspiring teachers and a caring, supportive environment. We give children an education that goes beyond the national curriculum. We help them develop skills and confidence in a wide range of activities, particularly music, drama and sport.
Your child may begin their journey at St Thomas Garnet’s with our award-winning Kindergarten team. Children can be with us from the age of 3 until they are 11, fully prepared to move on to the next stage of education.
As well as a reassuring continuity of education, our small class sizes and close-knit community make St Thomas Garnet’s a very friendly and supportive school.
A typical day at St Thomas Garnet’s
A typical day could begin at Breakfast Club. Parents with busy schedules can drop their children off from 8.00, knowing they will be given a healthy, filling breakfast.
Kindergarten and school begin with a joint assembly, which often features performances or work from children, as well as prayers to start the day.
You’ll learn more about your child’s individual lesson programme from their teacher. Most of this will take place in their own classrooms but also in our excellent ICT suite, purpose built music space, and even outside lessons if the weather is kind!
Breaks allow children to run off steam in our colourful playground. We also refuel them with a healthy break-time snack that includes carbs as well as fruit, or a delicious hot lunch. Many of our school clubs run at lunchtime too.
After school finishes at 3.15, our afterschool club runs until 6.00 and gives children a chance to do their homework in a supportive environment (which can save stress at home!).
