I was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire in February 1965, but I have spent most of my life studying, working and living in many parts of the UK. After University I became a Transport Planner/Engineer in London. It is here I met my future wife who persuaded me to enter teaching. I have not looked back since and I have enjoyed 26 years of teaching in the public and private sectors. Although I have taught primarily in the age range 11-18 ( Biology, Chemistry, Economics, ICT and Business) I have spent 15 years in Leadership and Management roles, as Head of Biology, Head of Science, then Deputy Headships and finally Head Teacher at St Mary’s College in Southampton. I have a passion for teaching and learning. I feel very fortunate to be able to work with the staff and students at St Thomas Garnet’s School. (Direct email: cly@stthomasgarnets.co.uk)
